How to Make Vegetable Samosa
Vegetable samosa is a delicious Indian snack which is deep fried till crispy. It is stuffed with potato and vegetables and is wrapped in a thin dough. This samosa is easy to make at home and is very tasty. It is also a great appetizer to serve to guests.
First of all, you need to prepare the dough for the samosas. This is not hard and it’s actually not very different from making pie crust. All you need is flour, baking powder, salt, oil and water and then knead it. If you are short on time you can use premade pie dough from the grocery store (make sure it’s vegan).
For the filling, heat some oil in a frying pan and add the onions. Cook until they are golden brown and then add the ginger-garlic paste. Saute for a few minutes. Add the spices and mix well. Then add the potatoes and peas. Cook everything for about 10 to 15 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender. Let it cool down and then mash it with a fork or potato masher.
If you want to avoid a long wait for the potatoes to cook, you can boil them ahead of time. You can even cook them in the microwave. To finish off the samosa, you can either serve them with green chutney or any other sauce you like. You can also reheat them in the oven at 350°F for about 3 to 5 minutes. سمبوسة خضار
